Glazing

Glazing

Whether choosing windows, doors, conservatories or sun rooms you will need to consider your choice of glazing. There are many options to choose from, some functional and some decorative.

Toughened safety glass: This is a legal requirement in safety critical areas around doors, low windows and full height glass panels.

Obscure glass: Where you need to protect your privacy, for example in your front door or toilet bathroom window, you will need to fit obscure glass. We can offer this in a variety of patterns and differing levels of obscurity, and there are samples and leaflets for you to look at.

Solar efficient glass: Used on your new conservatory roof, you can have glass that reflects the heat from the sun, or alternatively retains the heat from the sun.

Decorative glass: We can offer a range of coloured and leaded options to suit all tastes. We may even be able to re-use your existing leaded windows (subject to survey).

Self cleaning glass: This is a low-maintenance option. A special outer coating reacts with sunlight to break down the dirt, and rainwater spreads out across the glass panel literally washing the dirt away.

Polycarbonate sheet: Not usually thought of in connection with glazing, but some people prefer polycarbonate sheet in a conservatory roof instead of glass. It comes in a range of shades to suit all requirements.

Conservatories

Conservatories

Conservatories are offered in a range of colours, styles and sizes to suit every pocket and situation. The facets of a Victorian conservatory give it a classic and elegant look, and the angled roof provides a rounded and styled appearance. Similar to the Victorian, the Edwardian conservatory does not have any facets, but offers an elegant look with strong bold lines. It is completely adaptable to suit all house styles and bungalows.

As the name suggests, the Gable conservatory design is a variant on the popular Edwardian conservatory, but usually erected against a gable wall. The Lean-To is possibly the simplest and least expensive conservatory you can buy, but remains a very popular choice for those on a tight budget.

Try to envisage your conservatory and what you intend using it for. Is it a playroom for the kids, a dining room, an office, or just somewhere to sit and relax? Once you have decided on the design and shape of your new conservatory, check to ensure it will look right on your house and doesn't take up all your garden space.

Ideally it should look part of your house and not just an add-on. Please check with your local planning authority whether you need planning permission for any of the above options.
Doors

Doors

Beautiful doors with high security in mind! These are high security composite entrance doors in a range of colours and finishes, with matching fittings, to suit all discerning tastes. You will find it difficult to distinguish between a composite door and a traditional timber door.

Whichever style you choose, each door has been designed and tested to achieve a high level of security as they are all fitted with a multi-point locking system to give your home that added protection. They can be supplied as 'wheelchair friendly' which gives you a low thresh and a width to suit your property (subject to survey).

Residential doors: These are now regarded as the original uPVC door frame and panel and are offered in a wide range of colours, styles and finishes, all with multi-point locking, low thresh and furniture options; there are literally dozens of panel styles to choose from.

Bi-Fold doors: These beautifully engineered bi-fold doors can be used internally where a partition is required between rooms, or externally to allow full width access to your garden, patio or conservatory.

Patio And French Doors: Our range of French and patio doors offer the combined advantages of letting more light into the room, with the added benefit of affording easy access into the garden or conservatory.
Windows

Windows

We offer you the choice of two profile styles - firstly the fully chamfered style which elegantly emulates the putty line of a more modern timber frame, and secondly a fully sculptured style that replicates the look of traditional window frames. Both styles carry a 10 year manufacturer's colour fastness guarantee.

There are three designs to choose from - casement, tilt/turn or vertical sash. Then there are a range of colours and wood grain finishes - Golden Oak, Rosewood or Mahogany. Please ask for one of our catalogues.

We can help you to choose something suitable that satisfies your requirements. We suggest you consider our sliding sash textured range in either white or cream - we have recently successfully supplied and installed both. Glazing options are available in plain, or Georgian bar styles.
