About the Business

The goal of home improvement is to shape your house into a place that fits your needs and vision. At Gain-A-Room, we approach our projects with this philosophy in mind. Our aim is to help you bring your ideas into reality, whether the scale of the task is big or small. We specialise in the construction of extensions, installing kitchens, uPVC doors, windows, and converting garages and conservatories.

The Gain-A-Room team is comprised of highly-skilled craftsmen, with years of experience in home improvement. We’re equipped with all the skills needed to complete a project, from start to finish. From working with you to finalise the design plans, to our electrician completing the finishing touches, Gain-A-Room takes responsibility for the entire project.

Peace of Mind is Our Greatest Priority:

This allows us to develop a relationship with our clients that gives us a better understanding into their needs, and our clients benefit from a company with a greater insight into their home and its needs. Whatever the project’s scale, we know that you’ll have a vision for it.

At Gain-A-Room, we’ll make sure that we understand what you’re looking for and will help you find the best way to achieve it. Before work begins, we’ll talk through the plans for the project with you; we aim to keep you informed of any updates throughout. Our commitment to quality is demonstrated in our membership of the Federation of Master Builders and we are recognised by Fife Council as a Trusted Trader.

Windows and Doors

Windows and Doors

The windows you choose have to fit in with the appearance of your house. Not only that, but your windows have a large impact on the energy efficiency of your home. Living in a country with a pretty mild climate (although the winter weather can feel anything but mild), retaining heat is a priority. Poorly-fitted or low-quality windows can lead to heat being lost from your house and costing you money in heating bills.

We offer windows that will combat this. Our windows use the latest glass technology and where possible, they’re A-rated for energy efficiency. As an optional extra, you can choose to get SGG Planitherm Total with your windows to maximise thermal efficiency. This glass insulates your home, keeping as much heat inside as possible by allowing as much sunlight as possible to pass through the glass.

More sunlight means more heat and that means a warmer home for you, at less cost.

Our Range of uPVC Doors:

Gain-A-Room offers a range of stunning UPVC doors. Your door has to stand up to a lot during its lifetime, including the Scottish weather and the slams from many hurried exits. It helps if it can look good while doing so too. It’s understandable that after years of service they can end up looking a bit worn.

Our range of doors combine clean lines with high performance against all weather conditions: so you can expect them to last. Our UPVC doors feature robust security hinges too, because we understand the importance of security. They incorporate a multipoint locking system incorporating at least three steel hook bolts. The hinge bolt system guards against forced entry from the hinge side, so you can trust these doors to stand up to a home security threat as well as the wind.

Conservatories

Conservatories

Designed to create a place in your home that provides light and space, they can be a great way to bring the outdoors into your home – without the weather. There’s a variety of designs for conservatories and they make a beautiful addition to your house. You can use them for different activities: a conservatory makes an excellent dining room, a place to socialise or even a playroom for children.

However, it’s not unusual to find that your conservatory can overheat in the summer and be difficult to heat in winter. The culprit is the standard conservatory roof: poor insulation properties leads to poor temperature control. It can be disappointing to find that your conservatory isn’t fit for use throughout the year. Poorly insulated rooms allow heat to escape much quicker when it’s cold. It takes a lot more time to heat these rooms, and they need much more energy to be kept warm.
